Along the years, many individuals and institutions have contributed their practical experience, theoretical understanding and institutional know-how of what is needed to progress applied knowledge in agriculture.

GOFEN builds on these efforts, with the continued support of Cornell University and a team of international professionals committed to advancing the sciences and reach of farmer-centric On-Farm Experimentation.

Two international conferences were convened by INRAE (France) and Cornell University (US), with the support of researchers and practitioners from agronomy, innovation sciences, development and policy.

These events spearheaded global understanding on the evolution of OFE thinking and practice across the world, and led to the creation of GOFEN in 2023.
