Two international conferences were convened by INRAE (France) and Cornell University (US), with the support of researchers and practitioners from agronomy, innovation sciences, development and policy.

These events spearheaded global understanding on the evolution of OFE thinking and practice across the world, and led to the creation of GOFEN in 2023.
